George Tsimiklis is a senior criminal lawyer with more than three decades of experience in defence litigation, with a longstanding practice focused on criminal and quasi-criminal matters in Ontario. Called to the Bar of Ontario in 1993 after articling in Ottawa under Michael Neville, Robert Selkirk, and Ken Hall, he began his career in Ottawa and maintained his own practice there before continuing his work across broader Ontario jurisdictions.

Mr. Tsimiklis has also been involved in complex fraud-related litigation as a consultant in proceedings before the High Court of England and has contributed to the profession through mentorship of junior lawyers in Toronto.  At JT Defence, he brings measured judgment, strategic clarity, and extensive courtroom experience to the firm’s work on serious and high-consequence matters.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Tsimiklis has represented clients in high-profile and complex matters, appeared before the Quebec Provincial Court, and handled appellate work before the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Appeal.  His practice has included matters under the Criminal Code, the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Police Act, the Liquor Licence Act and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, reflecting a broad and seasoned advocacy background.

Ms. Tynes began her career in criminal defence, articling under respected Nova Scotia defence counsel and worked for the Provincial Prosecution Services of Nova Scotia assisting on many criminal matters. Ms. Tynes has appeared before the Provincial Court, Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. She later built on that foundation through work in youth, civil, and criminal litigation, including overturning Mareva injunctions, defending Small Claims Court matters, securing bail for clients, and representing individuals facing impaired driving, homicide, drug trafficking and sexual assault allegations.Â
Jacques Tynes is a criminal defence lawyer based in Toronto, Ontario. Called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2020 and the Ontario Bar in 2025, she has represented clients in Alberta, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec and Ontario.Â
Ms. Tynes has developed a reputation for tenacious advocacy, meticulous preparation, and strategic litigation. A graduate of the Schulich School of Law, Ms. Tynes was the most decorated member of the 2019 graduating class and placed in the top 10 in Canada at the Gale Cup National Moot. She was accepted into the Master of Laws program at Dalhousie University, where she has focused her studies on constitutional law.

Calvin V. Minors is a Senior Law Clerk whose work includes support on civil and criminal matters, with a focus on constitutional law, Charter applications, and equity based legal analysis. He assists counsel with legal research, precedent review, case preparation, and administrative coordination across complex files.
He also brings experience in office management, technology, marketing, and multi-jurisdictional file administration. His combination of research capability, operational organization, and strategic support contributes meaningfully to JT Defence’s legal and administrative practice.
